Having trouble pairing Thanksgiving yums?

Le Wine Buff Thanksgiving pairings - EnjoyBordeaux.com…then let Le Wine Buffs do it all for you!  It’s that time again, where everyone eats hours earlier than usual, groans, collapses around 7pm and then finishes up the late night with a whole new plate, yup…it’s Thanksgiving! I’ve spent *months* coming up with painstakingly precise food and wine pairings for my portion of this article, literally until all of the skin was…ok, you’re right, I didn’t.  In reality, I sat on the couch and drooled, thinking of all of the super tasty dishes that I had every year growing up, lovingly prepared by my supermom, Mama Donna.

Herein I describe one such tasty pairing, featuring the QPRWK WKBadge-worthy 2008 Mouton Cadet Bordeaux Supérieur Blanc and the 2006 Château Haut Selve Graves, going up against one of my favorite dishes of all time: Bean Glop (AKA Green Bean Casserole).  The other Le Wine Buffs also toss out some fantastic nom noms.  If you would like to log these wines in your own WineLog, they are tagged with “LeWineBuff2010Tday“. Cheers!

#WKBadges - QPRWKMouton Cadet Bordeaux Supérieur Blanc 2008

Color: Light gold straw, very clear

Nose: Great bright lime, lemon and grapefruit here with a touch of cream and some light florals.

Palate: Very crisp and good for the price, this has that same great crisp fruit from the nose and just barely moves into medium-body with a hint of cream and florals in the finish. Great value year in and year out.
